Two Magpies – Lough Atalia

Before me from the railtrack a magpie few
Alone over the lake to trees
Another for sorrow, of the piseog I thought:
Superstition the mind does sieze!
Then, walking on, to myself I smiled
As another flew there in front of me
“Two for joy” or so the piseog says
I, the walker, hope that it comes to be…

One of the pair of magpies at Lough Atalia this morning
One of the pair of magpies at Lough Atalia this morning
This verse was written as were a couple of others about the appearance of magpies and the piseog associated with them. While trying to photo them, I could only get one in at one time, maybe a sign to capture happiness should it come to pass, or lose it, it being fleeting, forever…

Have your say...
