A Nice Time of Year to Go

Ma is a decade gone this year, dad dying prior by a couple of years. Their anniversary occurs around Sammhain, a fortnight apart. We remember them on the week in between.

A nice time of year to go –
So long ago, like yesterday –
When the veil of life was at its thinnest
(As our people used to say)
We like to think in musing thought
He came back from the other side
To take her in hand to bring her over
When she a decade ago now died.

Years slip away, the passing time,
“Its as natural to die as it is to live”
So they used to say when pondering death…
May God their sins and errors forgive,
And forgive ours too for all are human…
All will in our time death face,
We all, we believe, shall meet again…
Just hope its in the better place!

Have your say...
