#freethenipple
#freethenipple hashtag is getting a lot of coverage across Europe at the moment, and is a movement to support. At its root is to take the notion of shame out of public displays of the female nipple, or breasts in general.
Yes, they are appealing to menfolk, but the more we count them as taboo the more sexualised we make them, and their most basic function, the feeding of the young needs to have iots taboo lifted as breast indeed is best.
We, as one meme doing the rounds of the internet has correctly stated, use breasts and see it acceptable to use them to see eveything from perfume to cars, and yet are embarrassed to use them for what they are meant to be used for, the feeding of the young.
That is the true pro life message.
Boobgate and all that
Have I been guilty of sexualising breasts as highlighted in the Boobgate fiasco in 2014? Prehaps a little, we all be when we make jokes, laddish or otherwise. But on the balence I think I may be forgiven on this count!
