Caliphate of the Heart
Reacting to the recent antics of Boko Haram and the Islamic State, I write in Ghazal format of my understanding of Islam as seen through /// the eyes of Rumi, and how far askew they are of it.
Inshallah, Rome will be won to the Caliphate
Said the rally cry of the Caliphate
Allah Akbar, ended online congratulations
From keyboard warriors of the new Caliphate
Scaremongering journalists gave stories to scare
Public into buying papers to learn to fear the Caliphate
Less than ten thousand strong, they seek to emanate
Ottoman borders and more in their cardboard Caliphate
Committing sacrilege and not realizing the whole free world
Is of the hearts of tolerant men, Allah’s Caliphate!
