Apron and the Veil

It was the writings and life of Robbie Burns that inspired my interest in Freemasonry, which has got me the ire of some nuns on the net of late! His only fault was his lust for women, which is not a sin at all, or if a sin one of the better faults for a man to have, he "being a man for all that!" and if its good enough for him, the hate spewed from official church channels both of my own and the Protestant Churches are something I ignore with glee. Pope Francis problems with Freemasonry is something I dont understand, though his tolerance for the gays is to be admired, and given the choice between the two Im glad he is hostile to them and not to us. He is a good pope, and I forgive him his hatred and his folly!

Some folk of faith their truth declare
Sinner are we who on the square
Meet as Brethren, in Lodge or street
At all times Gods eye beneath
We go to Church, more do not go
Each his own truth to God does know
As he knows God, meets fellow man
As honestly as any can
Folk of faith who are not aware
Forget why the apron we wear
The same as their Veil, we respect
Tells the wearer to be correct
In what we do and what we say
To go to our own church to pray
Or pray whereever we God meet
On hillside wild, or on the street
Or forest dark, where will birds sing
Praise to Him for everything
Fellow man honestly advise
Not to declare that we are wise
For we know nothing: all we know
Its why to church and lodge we go
Seek those who we aspire to be
Inspire others to be like me
We are the stones, chipped away
In life’s quarry every day
Through trials, joys, challenges and woes
How we respond – the path we chose
Helps us cope, or shows us the fool
To have such folly: life is cruel
Whether we veil or apron wear
Respect the others who are there
They tell the truth as it they know
We don’t have to agree love to show
That is the message that we yearn
To teach, to know, we seek to learn
We already knew it, yes: true
The Truth of Light was within you
What we need to learn in our life
Is how to live by this though strife
Whether to chapel or a Hall
As brethren each other we call
Some of the cross, more of the square
Each serve God in their own way there.

Have your say...
