We Know Nothing
“truth flitters across the screen
we know practically nothing”
– San Vincenzo “Vinci, Later” Morten Sondergaard
What we think is truth we see
And comment on on TV
Or in the papers, or on the net
We are informed, knowledgeable, yet
We know nothing – it is but a version
An impartial assertion
Of what one party says is the facts
About the worlds latest’s Iraq’s
Afghanistan’s and Libya’s
South Africa’s and Namibia’s
Other media’s say the same
But from the viewpoint from which came
The reporters, for all a message give
It is the nature of man who does live
According to his values and ambitions
Hatred’s and superstitions
And we watching, reading, listing to everything
Of the real truth… know practically nothing
