Bullet in his neck borne, a distraught soldier sought
\nFor a brother shot \u2013 another dead in battles roar
\nThe voice, a tenor so fine, no more will be heard
\nAnd the world, long after, it went on as before<\/p>\n
His son, in his time, he would march uniformed in ranks
\nAnd wield firearms, brave fire, as did his father before
\nWho lost his brother, took a bullet to the neck
\nSo that such wars would be fought no more.<\/p>\n
Just a name among many, a story now told
\nTo a listening few, getting fewer by year
\nAs all men must die, there are too many war stories
\nOf fact and of fiction to cause shedding of a tear.<\/p>\n
Young today are not fazed by stories of brutality
\nIts a fact of life, life that\u2019s like a video game
\nAs it was to the generals whose plans led to slaughter
\nWho sought glory, medals: knew little compassion or shame.<\/p>\n
