2014 Banagher Horse Fair, smaller, but it DID go ahead!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The most farcical part of the attempted shut down of Banagher fair<\/a>, was when John Boy Dolan got cautioned for selling HENS… when the town is awash with drugs!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Its Revenue men and the Guarda\u00ed
\nLaid siege to Banagher town
\nTo visitors it must have seemed
\nSomething major was going down…<\/p>\n

It must be a drug bust some thought
\nLove Hate comes to Banagher town
\nBut, no, they came for the Horse Fair, you see,
\nSome saps said shut it down.<\/p>\n

They dipped cars for green diesel
\nTo see were folk conning Revenue of a few bob
\nThey looked mighty hard and scary
\nBut they were only doing their job.<\/p>\n

They turned away visitors to the fair,
\nHorse people are not wanted here, being Irish in their own land
\nBut if your French and German with money and no horses
\nThere was no problem, I understand…<\/p>\n

But the highlight of the operation:
\nIt was spectacular, I dont deny!
\nThey cautioned a man for selling HENS!
\nYou wouldn’t see it on CSI!<\/p>\n

Welcome to gangland Banagher
\nOf Offaly its the wild west
\nHen dealing mafianos
\nTaken down by the Garda\u00ed’s best.<\/p>\n

Isn’t that why I pay my taxes
\nTo pay the wages of these great hard men
\nTo ignore the harmless drug dealers
