Life throws men such hardship
\nAnd misfortune, having no job or work to do,
\nIt seems that its unbeatable,

Each week at the dole office
\nHis name hed sign for his dole
\nA ritual for survical
\nThat tore at his very soul
\nAs it tears the souls of men
\nWho like him for the dole have signed
\nAnd lived on it as best they could
\nAnd rarely out ever dined.<\/p>\n
One day a ticket he bought
\nAnd he enjoyed a sup
\nNever realising till later
\nThat his numbers had come up
\nHis money worries over
\nThe jackpot he had won
\nA life of dregery at an end
\nNew life just begun!<\/p>\n
Now Vice was no fool you see
\nAnd later you\u00e2\u0080\u0099ll see why
\nFor opportunity and poetic justice
\nHe had a keen eye
\nHe bought the dole office
\nWhere he was so often messed about
\nRaised the rent steeply
\nAnd promptly got them out!<\/p>\n
So the next time you are signing
\nAnd the cashier looks down their nose
\nRemember that all that comes around
\nAlso around it goes
\nAnd if you in life have belief
\nThough opportunities are few
\nThe next one to buy a dole 0ffice:
\nIt just might be you!<\/p>\n
Inspiring tale for those out of work and who look to have little prospects… On October 22nd 1995, an unemployed man Vince Kearney in Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland had three children, and had a leaking roof in his house. Prospects for work was bleak, and he was getting the usual pressure to find work that did not exist for him. He got the ultimate revenge on the condecending dole clerks when he won the lotto, purchased the local dole office, rose the rent, and got them evicted! The dole office was the old office of the White Star ine, and he opened a theme bar in it that is still there.
