\nThe workers pain is for the employers gain
\nAs to do his work de does strive
\nWho from the harvest gets barely a grain
\nEnough just to let him survive
\nThe employer merely for sitting and for work setting
\nAnd investing money, thereby risking all
\nThe weight of the profit he is getting
\nTo lose as much should the venture fall.<\/p>\n
II<\/p>\n
Is this right that this is so?
\nThat this state of things can be?
\nHow are we to know:
\nUnless we look at it and see?
\nHe who has chosen to
\nEither invest or to keep
\nThese are choices few
\nShould he for him let his money work or sleep?<\/p>\n
III<\/p>\n
Should he invest and all goes to plan
\nHis venture works: money he will make a lot
\nHe shall be a very rich man
\nBut what happens if he does not?
\nWhat if all is to fail?
\nThe business does not go as planned?
\nAll his plans, they derail
\nThen, where shall he stand?<\/p>\n
IV<\/p>\n
He shall be all right as a rule
\nAs he did not invest it all
\nIf he did then he was a fool
\nAnd trying to be a wiseman was his fall!
\nHe shall have kept some in the bank
\nFor when things do, as they will: go wrong
\nAnd he his wisdom he will thank
\nFor it will help him struggle along<\/p>\n
V<\/p>\n
But he who his fortune makes
\nAs in a good living with plenty to spare
\nShall he be thrifty for his books\u00e2\u0080\u0099 sakes?
\nOr his benefits shall he share?
\nWithout his workers who work hard
\nNo money would he have, not a bob
\nBut on the other hand he has the card,
\nThat without him they\u00e2\u0080\u0099d not have a job.<\/p>\n
VI<\/p>\n
Should the State not hold the Purse?
\nAnd to Finance the profits take:
\nThey then can help when things get worse
\nFrom all the profits that they make
\nPrices of food can be kept down, little inflation
\nThen wages for people high we don\u00e2\u0080\u0099t have to keep
\nCost of living will be low on the population
\nAs food and services then will be cheap.<\/p>\n
VII<\/p>\n
With little pressure on the market, little depression
\nAs on the bad side little booms
\nEveryone can afford a decent session
\nCreating for service employment even more room
\nWhen we have the minimum and maximum wage
\nWith limits on the working week
\nPeople starting work at a younger age
\nThere will be little of the problems of which we so often speak<\/p>\n
VIII<\/p>\n
When State provides secure employment
\nThe land and market can be better managed
\nLess worries, and more work enjoyment
\nAnd less environment damaged
\nAs profit would not be the end of all
\nBut viability would be ensured
\nAnd they will not run when it\u00e2\u0080\u0099s all about to fall
\nBut shall invest, and the economic ill be cured!<\/p>\n
IX<\/p>\n
But what of Britain\u00e2\u0080\u0099s tale
\nState companies with corruption widespread?
\nBad services and businesses that otherwise would fail
\nWhere money sinks like in water does lead?
\nIf ever the managers were like the Revenue men
\nAnd the Commissioners kept a keen eye
\nThis would not happen again
\nAs corruption would not pass them by.<\/p>\n

\nIf only things like this could be
\nFor their future no one would have to fear
\nTheir way forward all could see
\nBut where there is Absolute Power
