Athlone some few hundred years ago
\nA story of which historians speak
\nIn far Ukraine, another bridge
\nHeld by a modern day Costume, this week<\/p>\n

Oh, poems much better than this one
\n– and that would not be hard! –
\nShall be written of the Costume of out times
\nThan the quick written lines of this bard.<\/p>\n

A soldier fights to die so others can live
\nLives as long as he can
\nThats what makes a soldier, a patriot
\nThats what makes a man.<\/p>\n

What is life but to be lived,
\nTo be lived is best in death
\nUkraine, Ireland, separated by time and miles
