Time passes, and its now white with black!!!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Life begins at forty<br \/>\nBy some it is said<br \/>\nI look forward to fifty<br \/>\nBut not with a sense of dread<br \/>\nA quiet pondering of where will life take me<br \/>\nFor the future is far from clear<br \/>\nAs a decade ago I knew I wouldnt be where I was<br \/>\nBut I didnt think I would be here!<\/p>\n<p>If my father was alive hed be getting the cheque<br \/>\nBut he never got to see<br \/>\nThe last decade, what would he make<br \/>\nOf the way things have to be?<br \/>\nSo many have died in those ten years<br \/>\nAs gets common at an age like mine<br \/>\nAll we can do is take life as it comes<br \/>\nAnd pray for the grace to do so, divine.<\/p>\n<p>The years creep up, the hair of fading black<br \/>\nWhich has given away to white&#8230;<br \/>\nGod be with the days when black it was<br \/>\nWith the occasional grey in sight!<br \/>\nThe wrinkles and jowls will come in time<br \/>\nIts natural to be<br \/>\nTime ticks on, brings us a road we would rather not walk<br \/>\nIn a future we are yet to see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I was walking the Slieve Blooms a decade back, I was a lot fitter than now &#8211; though far from fit!!! &#8211; and the hair was black with grey.
