We see the splinters in Americas eye
\nWho from COVID19 have quarter of a million dead:
\nIts smug to sneer Trump for his ignorance,
\nYet we should look at ourselves instead…<\/p>\n

Our deaths as a percentage of cases
\n– Testing free, of our numbers were sure –
\nAll America is sure of is number of deaths:
\nCases probably higher as few tests for the poor.<\/p>\n

We have a plank in our own we cannot see
\nMocking like COVID is catching…
\nLook to facts not to trends and projections
\nOr to denialists and the conspiracies they are hatching.<\/p>\n

We are not as bad as Britain is true,
\nAmerica is getting worse who we mock,
\nBut we are worse and have been worse still:
\nThe facts come as a hell of a shock.<\/p>\n

We are they tell us in this together,
\nBut there are different rules
\nFor the rich and the mighty who party
\nAnd the isolated taxpaying fools.<\/p>\n

We exit Level Five before Christmas
\nWe wish each other seasons greetings as we pass
\nCan we give the elderly the time and respect
\nBy staying home, and letting them go to Christmas mass?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
