Jailed by their own, reading of the deaths of others:
\nSix minutes it took one they read of to death to bleed!
\nReality was around the corner…
\nTo ignore the fact all had the need,
\nForm them, their six minutes was coming,
\nThat it was so, for all, none knew
\nReading words of one who dodged the bullet
\nI join the ranks of those who that fact knew.
\nThe flag had changed allright, but not the tyranny,
\nTrue had become the late great James Connolly’s iconic words
\nThose notions, the new state those conflicts had created
\nMade the Proclaimation to be but the twittering of birds.
\nWhat do men think in those six minutes
\nThat it takes a manshot in the heart fatally to die
\nFor the want of a free united Ireland
\nThat his former comrades now deny?<\/p>\n
