One of the trees unearthed by the storms of 2014<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Were these wild wild winds Bridgets Lament?
\nFor the desecration of her native land
\nWhere for thirty pieces of silver sold
\nWas her childrens future by a charlatans hand.<\/p>\n

Were these wild winds her anguished cries
\nFor her heritage lost her land had long worn
\nAs jewels on her dress: the landscape
\nThat through greed of man rough from with threads was shorn?<\/p>\n

Was it her breath that sent thundering waves
\nThe strong winds that brought down Birr’s Poplar Tree
\nOne among many casualties of the Seasons rage
\nThat uncovered an ancient forest from beneath the sea?<\/p>\n

So long drowned, not even the hand of man
\nCould hide the existence of what he never knew
\nPerhaps that is the message she sends to us today:
