{"id":446,"date":"2013-03-02T20:20:15","date_gmt":"2013-03-02T20:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=446"},"modified":"2014-09-02T20:22:30","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T20:22:30","slug":"bringing-in-the-wasted-harvest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/bringing-in-the-wasted-harvest\/","title":{"rendered":"Bringing In the Wasted Harvest"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_2280\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2280\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2280\" alt=\"A threshing day in Ireland, a day when all the neighbours worked as a community, known as the tradition of \" src=\"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Threshing-Day-in-Ireland.jpg\" width=\"730\" height=\"257\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2280\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Threshing day in Ireland<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div style=\"float: left; width: 30%;\">\n<h6><strong><em>Ireland has been wasteful as a state of her resources, the most valuable of which is her young people, which she on their coming of age have fled to other nations to make their living, having non at home due to the economic crises caused by the collapse of the property and banking sectors<\/em><\/strong>.<br \/>\nSatire on &#8220;The Gathering&#8221;, a cynical exercise to bring back the Irish diaspora&#8230; not for the love of them, but for economic gain.<\/h6>\n<p>A direct rip off of Scotland&#8217;s &#8220;The Homecoming&#8221;, it has been taken to heart and made their own by communities right across Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>If our government wanted to make it for the people, why do they not abolish the hated airline travel taxes for the duration?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe VAT on accommodation and souvenir goods?
