2018 was the year for graves and waves – we lost two members of the Tullamore Rhymers in Camillus Boland and Paul Curran, who along with other writers such as Kay Kinghammer went to meet their reward. Death indeed made its cruel presence<\/a> felt…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually, she made Lanesboro!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Finally having bought a boat, formerly “Little Vixen”, my Foxcub 18 finally made it to Lanesborough having toured Lough Derg and having an eventful journey up Lough Ree. “Dance of the Mayflies at Dromineer<\/a>” is one of the verses penned on that journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The abortion referendum was fought and lost. The topic has taken up much of my writings over the years. The campaign was a long slog, but one of the least confrontational. No matter which side folk were on, the issue was something each respected the opposing sides view on, by and large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abortion or none, womens rights are a long way from been solved. Money talks as seen from the Belfast Trial<\/a>. I was just glad it wasnt in Dublin, or the Catholic Church would have been blamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Readings At The Pallet series produced their 25 year anthology under the able editorship of Dave Boylan, but sadly due to work I missed this years event which incorporated the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I managed a few “Scene of the Rhyme” events this year, but alas that was one of the few events I did make it to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My writing career as such was taken over by real life, of which I will write in the years to come, when things are quieter!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
