Some sculptor scoundrel, storytellers and the sort
\nHave slandered by folk, questioned our worth
\nMade our reputation dirt, who in the church live,
\nA slight the mousefolk of the chapels can not forgive.<\/p>\n

Us: we live there as we live anywhere
\nWe listen to the sermons from the pews
\nPrayerful folk who want so to be seen
\nOf being a distraction they accuse.<\/p>\n

So the blood libel runs of my four legged freinds
\nThat we are a mousification of old Nick himself
\nWhat cruel hearts can think of such things to say
\nTo deny the lack of prayerful sincerity in themselves.<\/p>\n

If I, a mouse, was prayer and a human walked by
\nId see another creature of Gods creative hands
\nThen resort back to praying, or offer as the same
\nThe admiration of his nature and work, He’d understand.<\/p>\n

So next time you see a little church mouse
\nAs it scurry’s by to get food for its young there
\nSee another of Gods creatures just like you
\nOffer its admiration as to God another prayer!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
