{"id":3785,"date":"2011-07-13T01:56:47","date_gmt":"2011-07-13T00:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=3785"},"modified":"2017-07-13T01:59:49","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T00:59:49","slug":"we-are-no-weavers-who-write-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/we-are-no-weavers-who-write-today\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are No Weavers Who Write Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.weavers-trail.co.uk\/images\/weaver_06.jpg\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>We are no weavers who write today<br \/>\nYet still we write in their way<br \/>\nAnd similar is the things we say<br \/>\nIn our small rhymes<br \/>\nAnd with words and language play<br \/>\nAs we write of our times.<\/p>\n<p>Many of them were Masonic members then<br \/>\nAnd crafted their words as such men did when<br \/>\nThough they were not operative craftsmen,<br \/>\nAs speculative masons be<br \/>\nAnd we weave but words not cloth with pen<br \/>\nAs Speculative Weavers are we?<\/p>\n<p>By our work we keep paper by<br \/>\nAnd pen, and should a thought fly<br \/>\nTo mind, or image come to eye<br \/>\nIt can be written down<br \/>\nThough a writer such as I<br \/>\nMay never be of renown&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>For a writer, like them in their year<br \/>\nWrite not for glory, though it may appear<br \/>\nThough fame is saught both far and near<br \/>\nIt is not to live<br \/>\nA live of luxury, and sloth and cheer<br \/>\nBut rather to give&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>To give the joy of the written word<br \/>\nThat flies on page like a freed bird<br \/>\nAnd tells of an event occurred<br \/>\nOr a flight of fancy thought<br \/>\nThough it may seem however absurd<br \/>\nWritten down to be read it aught.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are no weavers who write today Yet still we write in their way And similar is the things we say In our small rhymes And with words and language play As we write of our times.
