The war hawks screamed
\n“Where are your words
\nNow that ours have fallen?”<\/p>\n
But silence spoke loudest
\nA simple prayer
\nOf grief and understanding. <\/p>\n
A prayer for peace in a time to come
\nWe have been here before.<\/p>\n
As long as war and conflicts last
\nIt shall too stalk our shore.<\/p>\n
Let this not stir in the hearts of man
\nHatred for many because of the few.<\/p>\n
Because evil wins through their sins
\nBecause they want you to.<\/p>\n
So tonight we say our prayers
\nIn chants or contemplation
\nFor Manchester dead and for those names unknown, unsaid
\nWho died in other nations.<\/p>\n
A mere poet stumbles in and out of rhyme
\nFor like the world, is stunned,
\nBut not defeated by this crime.<\/p>\n
World leaders, deposed the despots
\nWho kept theses genies in the bottle
\nSmashed for oil and profit and power
