Tobar Segais by hazel trees nine
\nShed each a nut to the waters still
\nAnd a salmon hungry there was swimming
\nAnd of the nuts it ate its fill<\/p>\n

The well of wisdom so to the fish gave
\nAll the knowledge that it held within much yearned
\nAnd Finnegas sought the fish to catch
\nAs who ate the fish, the knowledge learned<\/p>\n

Now Fionn was young and Fionn was bold
\nAnd sought for Finnegas the fish to catch
\nAnd the fish being wily tried to slyly
\nKeep himself free: but he’d met his match.<\/p>\n

And so on the fire the fish Fionn cooked
\nFor his master Finnegas to eat
\nIt nearly being done, he burned his thumb
\nAs he told the old man to take a seat<\/p>\n

And to numb the pain his thumb he sucked
\nAnd so was the first the fish to taste
\nAnd so gained all the knowledge within
\nThe carcass was but food, and waste!!!<\/p>\n

And Finnegas took the fish
\nAnd saw to his sorrow and surprise
\nThe look of one who knowledge leaned
\nA scholars look was in Fionn’s eyes.<\/p>\n

Of eating the fish Fionn denied
\nFor he knew that not do he should
\nBut told of the burn and sucking his thumb
\nAnd all at once Finnegas understood<\/p>\n

And after that day should Fionn to know need
\nInto his thumb he had to bite
\nAnd the knowledge was his that dwelt within
\nSo ends the tale of which I write…<\/p>\n
