{"id":3452,"date":"2012-12-31T09:48:38","date_gmt":"2012-12-31T09:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=3452"},"modified":"2017-01-02T09:50:14","modified_gmt":"2017-01-02T09:50:14","slug":"farewell-2012-bring-on-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/farewell-2012-bring-on-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell 2012 &#8211; Bring on 2013!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2096\" title=\"2013\" src=\"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/2013.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div style=\"float: left; width: 49.5%;\">\n<p>As we bid farewell to 2012, we look forward with renewed vigor to the coming year of 2013.<\/p>\n<p>We survived yet again an end of the world, and look forward to the announcement of the next one.<\/p>\n<p>On a personal level, Im preparing to move back to my families native Longford, and family research has led to the discovery of a book on Longford history that has great anecdotes which I intend to put in verse in the coming months!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be donning my walking shoes again, with a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella on the agenda for the coming months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"float: right; width: 49.5%;\">\n<p>On the arts scene, a collection of my work is slated for March, a chapbook from the Tullamore Rhymers Club to be done for the end of January, and to wrap up Issue X of Cartys Poetry Journal, and integrate the new submission mechanism in the website.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back on 2012, the highlight had to be the launch of Seamus Kirwans excellent book &#8220;Ravings of a Mad Irishman&#8221;, which is a great read with a powerful message.<\/p>\n<p>Outings to the Fermoy Poetry Festival, having Kevin Higgins down for the 100,000 Poets for Changeevent, catching the tail end of the C\u00c3\u00bairt festival in Galway and attending a couple of events in the Irish Writers Centre kept me busy.<\/p>\n<p>The coming year will see me writing as much about slurry tanks as rhyming poetry, and bring it on is what I say!!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we bid farewell to 2012, we look forward with renewed vigor to the coming year of 2013.
