The homeless are not just for Christmas. We need to sort more hostels and housing and services to prevent it in the first place. <\/p>\n

Like Jonathan Corrie the story will die downonce Apollo House is cleared and demolished. <\/p>\n

Its up to us to make sure that doesnt happen this time <\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Apollo House occupation is a good start: but we need to solve the problems in society that cause it, for there was homeless under the Celtic Tiger too. Good governance will solve the economicly caused homeless…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

No stables for these weary folk
\nWhose homes are on the street
\nWe think of them at Christmas
\nWho asleep on the pavement we meet.<\/p>\n

But in summer sun and autumn chill
\nWhen springs rain comes tumbling down
\nGood Christians all they walk by
\nWith a disapproving frown.<\/p>\n

If we are to be good people
\nAs we think ourselves to be
\nLet us help in more than times of hardship
\nWhen we others problems see.<\/p>\n

When there is no political gain
\nWhen it is a personal cost
\nThen our help is truly Christian and human
\nFor societies forgotton lost…<\/p>\n

We must as a society change
\nWhat causes the problem in a land of plenty that we are still
\nTo spite our economic problems
\nIts our society that is ill<\/p>\n

That causes the problems of drink and drugs
\nThat afflict and cause so many to lose all
\nWe must change how its seen as cool to abuse them
\nFor thats how victims to addiction into trouble fall.<\/p>\n

Homes and hostels are progress
\nOnly if for all year is our change of heart
\nThe homeless are not just for Christmas
