{"id":3374,"date":"2013-07-10T03:26:37","date_gmt":"2013-07-10T02:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=3374"},"modified":"2016-12-10T03:29:56","modified_gmt":"2016-12-10T03:29:56","slug":"in-a-land-without-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/in-a-land-without-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"In a Land Without Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_2592\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2592\" style=\"width: 508px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2592\" alt=\"Tom Darcy - should leanr his history better, but at least they made a stand, unlike those who make a skit of him.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Tom-Darcy-300x106.jpg\" width=\"508\" height=\"179\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2592\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tom Darcy &#8211; should learn his history better, but at least\u00c2\u00a0 made a stand, unlike those who make a skit of him.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In a land without leaders, the people must stand,<br \/>\nStand for what their forefathers fight for, the rights of the land,<br \/>\nSimple folk, not of great education, by no means a fool,<br \/>\nToo long living life to remember lessons from school<br \/>\nOf long dead hero whose time is long past<br \/>\nWho inspire todays folk, whose example does last,<br \/>\nLittle grasp of the details of history, on it cannot well speak,<br \/>\nBut try, are too busy making it, glory to seek<br \/>\nFleeting fools of themselves make, when caught on the spot,<br \/>\nHighlighted by gleeful media, who a jewel have got<br \/>\nTo discredit heroes, who stopped the banks at their play<br \/>\nSaved homes for the dispossessed, even if only for one day<br \/>\nMedia and enemies snigger, the chortle of the nyeuck<br \/>\nPolitical rivals who talk lots and do little, who don&#8217;t give a fuck<br \/>\nBar to promote their vision, but who hate folk who own their own house,<br \/>\nGreat at waving banners, at protests timid as a mouse&#8230;<br \/>\nWhere were THEY at Allsops?
