Image from <U><a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/OffalyCAHWT\"><strong>Offaly Says No on Twitter<\/strong><\/a><\/U><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In time the government said<br \/>\nWater supply had to be paid<br \/>\nResisted by the already overtaxed<br \/>\nA compromise of sorts was made<br \/>\nTwo per cent onto VAT<br \/>\n5 onto car tax and registration<br \/>\nThe issue settled for a while<br \/>\nProsperity came to the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Prosperity passed as it always does<br \/>\nBar the well of money in the banks went dry<br \/>\nBailed out by taxpayers due to government decree<br \/>\nNone of whom stopped to ask how or why<br \/>\nThe money for the water was taken<br \/>\nTo pay back the bail out for the banks<br \/>\nThe Germans kept grabbing and took it all<br \/>\nDemanded it all, never said thanks.<\/p>\n<p>The people took to the street again<br \/>\nIn tens of thousands they protested<br \/>\nSat down on the road in the face of police<br \/>\nGot baton charged, harassed, and arrested.<br \/>\nThe people complained about the protesters<br \/>\nWho wanted to pay for nothing at all<br \/>\nWho did not know the value of water<br \/>\nAccording to the Water Carrier Know it All&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Well, those from these city streets<br \/>\nThose allies from their country farms<br \/>\nThey and their forefathers too<br \/>\nCarried the buckets of water with tired arms.<br \/>\nThey worked, the paid, will not pay again<br \/>\nNo matter how party loyalists cry<br \/>\nWho put party above country in a treason of our times<br \/>\nWho the truth blindly deny&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;I grew up when we had to carry water.
