We know it is forbidden – the sin of pride
\nBut can we love ourselves if we dont have pride?<\/p>\n
For we are but nothing if ourselves we cant have
\nIn who we are and what we do some pride<\/p>\n
Of who we are and where we are from we must
\nTo be human, be not afraid to have pride<\/p>\n
But let it not to excess define us
\nThat we as man are a being of pride<\/p>\n
For love of ones own, when taken to extreme
\nCan cause us to make another cower neath our pride<\/p>\n
Words said to boost our esteem as men
\nOr as nations, with too much pride<\/p>\n
Cause is to kill others we do not find worthy
\nOf mercy, life, recognition, then sinful is pride<\/p>\n
But when it is just to love ourselves as much as others
\nThere is no harm, it is good, a little pride.<\/p>\n
For to have none at all is to say we are perfect
