In the eyes of Eve was not Evil
\nBut a desire of love for to know,
\nAnd the act of Adam was not bad
\nThe act of Love to show.
\nNor was the eyes of woman evil
\nThat hold love in their hearts within,
\nNor evil are the lusts of men:
\nEvil are those who call it sin.<\/p>\n

II<\/p>\n

In the arms of Eve was not evil
\nFor how can it evil be
\nRegardless of state of undress, your love to caress
\nThe reasoning I cannot see.
\nTo have the arms of a lady
\nAround you in sweet embrace
\nIs no sin when she don’t belong to another,
\nNo evil is within her face.<\/p>\n

III<\/p>\n

The serpent that spoke, spoke not of evil
\nAs he dangled from the tree
\nOh no, for love would have found its way,
\nAnd so, not evil was he.
\nAnd the heel that stamps him to the dust
\nAnd said that all others likewise should,
\nKnows only evil in his heart,
\nAs to know love he never could.<\/p>\n

IV<\/p>\n

Desecrate the act of the showing of love
\nBy denying and condemning a need
\nTo be loved, and to give love
\nGave rise to indulgence of greed.
\nAnd so the act of love came not of the heart,
\nBut purely of sensation to feel,
\nWhich without love is empty,
\nAnd without love is not real.<\/p>\n

V<\/p>\n

And the loudest voice kept shouting
\nTheir version of the story to tell,
\nSo that now it is the only one
\nOf how out of favour Adam fell.
\nWhen hearts grow cold and love no more,
\nAnd love is but a historical fact
\nWhen we use each other for lust alone…
\nThen sinful is the act.<\/p>\n

VI<\/p>\n

And those who love have never known
\nAnd to never know it, have planned
\nLive not in the world of men
\nAnd so cannot understand.
\nFor he who to love has closed his heart,
\nNever love will know,
\nAnd he who has never known love
\nNever love can show.<\/p>\n

VII<\/p>\n

So, was there Evil in Eden?
\nDoes the Good Book deceive?
\nTell us a lie and not why,
\nAs the Gnostics believe?
\nThe Bible is but a book
\nWith any opinions within
\nHearts of good and evil find their kind,
\nAnd mark out what they call sin.<\/p>\n

VIII<\/p>\n

For a man or woman who truly loves
\nAnd their love they share
\nAre loved by God on his own
\nFor He knows what’s truly there,
\nIn the deepest cavern of their hearts,
\nFrom all the world hid
\nIt matters not the ceremonies of man,
\nTo heaven, on death, they’ll be bid.<\/p>\n
