China had a campaign using the best science of the time to kill vermin, most notably the sparrow, and a plague of locusts killed the crop they tried to protect, showing our lack of understanding of nature for all our science. Today in the west, we say there are too many humans, and population control measures such as abortion bring back the eugenics thinking of the 1930’s by the back door. We have too many urban humans, not too many humans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They killed the sparrows, only vermin
\nKeep the crops safe was the plan
\nThe locusts came in biblical plague
\nHarvest lost, famine struck down man<\/p>\n

Man played God, knowing not natures way
\nMan is wiser, we hope, today.<\/em><\/p>\n

Stop overpopulation, too much of a burden
\nKeep the earth safe is the plan
\nFrom our folly what will the plague be
\nPopulation lost, what will replace man?<\/p>\n

Man plays God, not knowing natures way
