The pointlessness of it<br \/>\ninspired the following poems. <\/em><\/a><\/address>\n<p>A woman speaks&#8230; I overhear<br \/>\nAs others talking ot their phones I hear<br \/>\nInforming others of their lateness&#8230; &#8220;Dear!&#8221;<br \/>\nAs someone on the line has died.<\/p>\n<p>It could be a boy, or a girl either<br \/>\nSays a woman behind, her eyes open wider<br \/>\nAs she jokes of grim reapers calling, my head she does meider<br \/>\nAs unknown jokes to her are replied.<\/p>\n<p>But I cant contain a grin<br \/>\nBetter sense says to keep within<br \/>\nAs the carraigewheels start to spin<br \/>\nAs the blood on the tracks has dried.<\/p>\n<p>The flesh and brains swept away<br \/>\nTo body bags, to be buried and decay<br \/>\nAfter funeral, where others pray<br \/>\nWho when living the deceased could not bide.<\/p>\n<p>That is life&#8230; it is insane<br \/>\nYou stop all jumping in front of a train<br \/>\nBlood and guts is all of you does remain<br \/>\nAnd you interrupt others train ride.<\/p>\n<p>The rails are scraped, washed and cleaned<br \/>\nAnd debris removed that on sleepers leaned<br \/>\nAnd news o your death by others is gleaned<br \/>\nThe trains resume again&#8230; sure as the tide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A double suicide delayed by train back to Dublin after the Poets Express event in 2010.
