\nThe child to the well he was brought
\nIn desperation and pure belief was bathed
\nA cure for his ailment was saught.<\/p>\n

Prayers said, the boy was toweled down
\nWrapped up him warm to keep
\nDutifully by the local women
\nHe was allowed to settle and sleep.<\/p>\n

Chided on being woken from a vision
\nFolk and the Board thought it a dream
\nHe said Christ and the Virgin were before him
\nWith “brave winged brides” had been…<\/p>\n

A miracle his family declared it
\nFor the boy sickly who before them of this talked
\nWho before this had to be carried
\nLike Christs cripple, got up and walked!<\/p>\n

Three drams of water in the name of the Trinity
\nTo be drank by him for the next nine days
\nHe told the assembled who before him trembled
\nAt the truth that God answers folk simple who prays.<\/p>\n

These waters I walk by some centuries after
\nWhere the Governor of Galway had people shot at his will
\nGrace, luck, call it what you want, even good fortune
\nMany injured yet no one did they kill.<\/p>\n

The looted the pilgrims and jailed them
\nTaking Gods name in vain
\nSaying they knew what He wanted and not them
\nWho did not even have the right to say His name!<\/p>\n
