Commemmorations by the state parties of the 1916 rising makes me sick. Those who parade as dress up rebels today would have been the first to oppose the hunger strikers in their time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

When the bullets they were flying
\nWhen the hunger strikers were dying
\nEvery one of them were trying
\nTo break down the IRA.<\/p>\n

Now that the peace is made
\nOf dying they need not be afraid
\nIn uniform they as charlatans parade
\nEvery one is a rebel today.<\/p>\n

If, back in 1916
\nThey then living had been
\nThey’d oppose the rebels and cheer the queen
