Ever am an of his word… Wilie Rimes brought some carrots for the Masons Goat when joing his local lodge. Alas, as always with him, it did not go to plan…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Like many good men before him
\nTo join the local lodge our Willie did inquire
\nThe mystery of the rituals and the history
\nHad set his imagination and interest on fire…<\/p>\n

Me met the lads from the local lodge one day
\nWhere it was – it was under his nose he found
\nHe’d passed it every day, never knew it was there
\nHe stepped onto historic ground!<\/p>\n

“What are my duties, if ye let me join”
\nSaid the bould Willie, a lump in his throat…
\nThe brethern gave each other and said one with a wink
\n“Before your first degree you must feed the goat!”<\/p>\n

A man of his word he arrived that Sunday morning
\nThe lodge on his way he did pass
\nWith a 20 kilo bag of the best carrotts
\nTo feed the goat, before he went on to mass!<\/p>\n

Well, the door and the gate, they were both locked
\nNo other way in could he see
\nSo he clambered the wall and fell into the briars
\nAll for the want of a key!<\/p>\n

He called out for the goat, bleeding and scratched
\nSearched the little yard, the shed and the small garden there
\nAlas to his dismay, his worry and fright
\nThere was no goat to be found at all there!<\/p>\n

So he panicked and fled for it is said
\nThe penalties can be severe
\nThough they say they are symbolic in these modern times
\nThe bould Willie was crippled with worry and fear!<\/p>\n

The masons were puzzled when he was a no show for his degree
\nHe didn’t show, or call that night or any night more:
\nBut the most puzzling thing the masons found at the lodge in his Initiation night
\nWas a ten kilo bag of carrots at the back door!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
