{"id":2584,"date":"2016-03-06T12:23:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-06T12:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=2584"},"modified":"2016-03-06T12:23:58","modified_gmt":"2016-03-06T12:23:58","slug":"dogma-must-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/dogma-must-die\/","title":{"rendered":"Dogma Must Die"},"content":{"rendered":"<address><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1282\" title=\"Immanuel-Kant\" src=\"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Immanuel-Kant.jpg\" alt=\"Immanuel Kant Dogma Must Die\" width=\"90\" height=\"121\" \/><br \/>\nThe death of dogma is the birth of morality.<\/address>\n<address>~ Immanuel Kant<\/address>\n<p>Dogma, dogma, dogma\u2026 it must die<br \/>\nFor it is not faith that makes men fight<br \/>\nBut rather the belief, unerring<br \/>\nThat they alone are right.<br \/>\nIts not enough to know God<br \/>\nOr to love him and say your prayers<br \/>\nBut is how you say them, in the public eye<br \/>\nAs you try to avoid disapproving stares\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Some men debate at length the dogma<br \/>\nWhether or not Jesus was divine<br \/>\nOr if or not original Sin<br \/>\nWas on your soul at birth and mine.<br \/>\nFair enough if you want to debate<br \/>\nAnd agree to disagree<br \/>\nBut the trouble starts when they suppress<br \/>\nThose they accuse of heresy.<\/p>\n<p>For those who agree not like them<br \/>\nPreach a belief they think not true<br \/>\nAnd to keep people believing their version of truth<br \/>\nCreate murder and terror they do.<br \/>\nHave no false Gods before me<br \/>\nThe first commandment says<br \/>\nYou can look at that commandment<br \/>\nIn many different ways.<\/p>\n<p>No man has the right to say what God wants<br \/>\nThe Good Book it is a guide<br \/>\nFor God, as YWEH is unmentionable, unknowable<br \/>\nSo it is the sin of pride<br \/>\nTo look down on another<br \/>\nIf at ritual or prayers he is not the same<br \/>\nEach man finds his own way back to God<br \/>\nFor life is but a flame<\/p>\n<p>And the body a frail candle<br \/>\nThat gives a blaze that is flickering, at its max<br \/>\nAnd the body a melting withering shell<br \/>\nAs the candlestick of wax.<br \/>\nAll men know God<br \/>\nA little \u2026 and that is why<br \/>\nNone can say they speak for Him<br \/>\nSo Dogma\u2026 it must Die!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The death of dogma is the birth of morality. ~ Immanuel Kant Dogma, dogma, dogma\u2026 it must die For it is not faith that makes men fight But rather the belief, unerring That they alone are right.
