Take Not The Lords Name in Vain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Take not the Lords name in Vain it is commanded<br \/>\nSome say it means &#8220;Do not swear&#8221;<br \/>\nIt baffled me how God could be offended<br \/>\nIf I called his name when I dropped something there<br \/>\nOr hurt myself, or in frustration<br \/>\nSwore, and his name invoked<br \/>\nSure its rude, but He is no prude<br \/>\nThat at such misdemeanor be provoked.<\/p>\n<p>When armies of leaders go to War<br \/>\nFor an idea, an empire, over others to build<br \/>\nDo so in the name of God to spread his word<br \/>\nDo so to bring for them a shield<br \/>\nWhen folk to invoke hate use His name<br \/>\nFor others do not follow their way<br \/>\nWhich they use their faith as they interpret it<br \/>\nAs their leaders declare words God did say<\/p>\n<p>That IS taking Gods name in vain<br \/>\nBy all creeds and colours it is committed there<br \/>\nIn comparison a swer of common folk in frustration<br \/>\nMay annoy god, but in comparison is a prayer!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Take not the Lords name in Vain it is commanded Some say it means &#8220;Do not swear&#8221;
