Taking a common sense look at the Ten Commandments – Take Not The Lords Name in Vain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Take not the Lords name in Vain it is commanded
\nSome say it means “Do not swear”
\nIt baffled me how God could be offended
\nIf I called his name when I dropped something there
\nOr hurt myself, or in frustration
\nSwore, and his name invoked
\nSure its rude, but He is no prude
\nThat at such misdemeanor be provoked.<\/p>\n

When armies of leaders go to War
\nFor an idea, an empire, over others to build
\nDo so in the name of God to spread his word
\nDo so to bring for them a shield
\nWhen folk to invoke hate use His name
\nFor others do not follow their way
\nWhich they use their faith as they interpret it
\nAs their leaders declare words God did say<\/p>\n

That IS taking Gods name in vain
\nBy all creeds and colours it is committed there
\nIn comparison a swer of common folk in frustration
\nMay annoy god, but in comparison is a prayer!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
