{"id":1947,"date":"2015-06-24T02:47:53","date_gmt":"2015-06-24T02:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/?p=1947"},"modified":"2015-06-24T02:47:53","modified_gmt":"2015-06-24T02:47:53","slug":"the-priest-and-the-playboy-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingsinrhyme.com\/index.php\/the-priest-and-the-playboy-magazine\/","title":{"rendered":"The Priest and the Playboy Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_2777\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2777\" style=\"width: 821px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2777\" alt=\"Playboy - As Holy As Any Book\" src=\"http:\/\/www.writingsinrhyme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Playboy-As-Holy-As-Any-Book.jpg\" width=\"821\" height=\"212\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2777\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Playboy &#8211; As Holy As Any Book?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the clerics car, which the housekeeper was cleaning,<br \/>\nA copy of Playboy was found,<br \/>\nShe assumed it was planted there by the alterboys as a prank,<br \/>\nAs a few of them had just been around.<br \/>\nShe was shocked, horrified, and disgusted,<br \/>\nSaid the filth to the priest she would have to show,<br \/>\nBoys claiming to be holy were anything but,<br \/>\nThis the priest was going to know.<\/p>\n<p>She ranted and raved, waved the magazine round,<br \/>\nOf huzzies with everything on display,<br \/>\nBut the priest was calm, and not angry at all,<br \/>\nHe invited the housekeeper to pray.<br \/>\nTo pray for the girls in the pictures<br \/>\nWould be seen as beautiful when there looks fade<br \/>\nBe happy in themselves, have enough to live<br \/>\nThe housekeeper looked at him, dismayed.<\/p>\n<p>The priest said, let us pray for the alterboys,<br \/>\nThank God for their healthy sense of fun,<br \/>\nAnd hope in their lives, they know true love,<br \/>\nAnd the heart of a good woman have won.<br \/>\nThank God they can see the beauty in His creation,<br \/>\nAbout lustful looks at magazines he wasn&#8217;t pushed,<br \/>\nIts natural for boys at their life\u00c2\u00a0 and time<br \/>\nEven if all of the girls are airbrushed.<\/p>\n<p>Pray they will see the beauty within,<br \/>\nThat lasts when looks have faded with age,<br \/>\nThat they will see girls are people, not things to be used,<br \/>\nSo prayed this wild old sage.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s as much scripture in Playboy as in any holy book,<br \/>\nThough on appearance, its a book of sin&#8230;<br \/>\nNever did anyman kill another based upon,<br \/>\nOn its pages what was written within.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the clerics car, which the housekeeper was cleaning, A copy of Playboy was found, She assumed it was planted there by the alterboys as a prank, As a few of them had just been around.
