She dances, dreams behind the eyes and the false smiles,
\nChasing Mammon, just passing through to a promised land,
\nFalse promises offered to empty hearted men,
\nWith full wallets and little to do at hand,
\nA dreamer living a nightmare to fulfill a dream
\nMammons promises being false in time she would understand.<\/p>\n

Along the way, behind the glitz, the clothes the smiles,
\nEyes as if they followed her, called her home,
\nFalse friends, dodgy businessmen, a broken dream,
\nUntil one lonely man offered her a home,
\nBut the price it was to be her freedom, her very soul,
\nDreams being false, they were abandoned, she returned home.<\/p>\n

I was down to see “Broken Promise Land” here in “The Fridge”, the new venue of Foundation 13 here in Tulllamore -\u00c2\u00a0 Mirjana Rendulic’s show tells of her time as an exotic dancer in a dream to reach America. She ended up in Ireland, before returning home. While chasing the dream, she was conned by Albanian businessmen, colleagues and friends, and yet met some amazing obliging people. Not presenting strip clubs as an exploitation, or herself as a victim, she still shows how empty the lifestyle is.<\/address>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
